Flanders invests 5 million euros in project around coal washes Beringen

Flemish Minister of Tourism Zuhal Demir is investing 5 048 049 euros through Tourism Flanders in be-NATURE, a project at the former mining site be-MINE in Beringen.

The funds will serve to open up the chapel tower and coal washes 1 and 3 to visitors from home and abroad, introducing them to Limburg’s mining past. Work on the be-MINE site in Beringen will take more than a year and should be completed by the end of 2024.
