The history of Coal Laundry 1 and 3.

The Coal Laundries, the most important part of the coal mine, was where the coal was processed.
The building complex stood on stilts, so the coal wagons could drive underneath to be filled with coal and then leave for the coal port.

Around the coal laundry it was always busy, 24/7, with moving mine carts and hard-working miners. Coal Laundry 1 and 3 have been idle for 30 years now. The building is empty and in poor condition, but that will soon change….
