First Phase of Houtpark Opens at be-MINE
At the historic be-MINE mining site In Beringen, the first hectare of the Houtpark has been officially completed. The new park forms a green corridor between Stationsstraat and the site, and connects to the Limburg bicycle route network and the Sporenpark.
With native vegetation, play features, and seating areas, Houtpark is taking shape as a place for socializing, relaxation, and experiencing nature. The park is located on the edge of the future Willow Park residential neighborhood and is an integral part of the ongoing development of be-MINE as an open and green ecosystem.
The project is part of a broader master plan that integrates heritage, nature, and housing. Step by step, the site is evolving into a vibrant environment with space for recreation, sustainable transportation, and sustainable housing development.
The Houtpark plays a key role in this regard: it connects various parts of the site and the surrounding area, with a focus on biodiversity and future-proof green space management.
At the same time, the park provides the green setting for a new residential neighborhood at be-MINE. The first homes have already been built and are for sale, and they are part of a larger residential project that will continue to expand in the coming years.
