The Coal Preparation Plants, the most important part of the coal mine, was where the coal was processed.
The building complex stood on stilts, so the coal wagons could drive underneath to be filled with coal and then leave for the coal port.

Around the coal preparation plant it was always busy, 24/7, with moving mine carts and hard-working miners. Coal Preparation Plant 1 and 3 have been idle for 30 years now. The building is empty and in poor condition, but that will soon change….
